We believe that regular grooming is an essential step in keeping your best friends skin and coat healthy and shiny, along with a proper diet. It can also prevent problems such as excessive shedding,and painful mats to name a few. Every pet will be checked for skin problems such as dander, hot spots, fleas and ticks. Special shampoos and conditioners are available to help sooth these conditions.
A word about dematting. . . Dematting is not only timeconsuming but it hurts. We will do our best to remove as many mats as possible without causing undue stress or pain to an animal. If a pet has excessive matting, a smoothie will be required.
Smoothies are a nice, less scary term for a shave down. When a dog is severely matted it sometimes inhibits the way the dog walks because just the act of walking can hurt. 90% of the time the best course of action for a matted pet is a smoothie because it will let air get to the skin for the first time since it was matted, and giving a smoothy is much less painful then the pulling and tugging that might be required to dematt the coat.
